'Sunder' is the first new track we've heard from Seattle's Hibou since the double A-side single 'Glow'/'Hollow' earlier this year. It's taken from their new EP 'Dunes' which is available now. To be honest this kind of sound is basically what fuels The Sound Of Confusion. Each morning we stumble out of bed feeling either like a zombie or that we'd quite like to be eaten by one, and then begin to shovel as much of this type of stuff into our furnaces as we can. Before you know it we're up and running, so fans of the site will most likely find that 'Sunder' is right up their street.
Yeah, this is kinda lo-fi, kinda '80s indie, kinda shoegazey, kinda hazy and summery and fuzzy and full of beans. It's a splendid example (and there have been many, as we know) of a band writing great pop songs but producing them in a manner that is irresistible to those with similar tastes to us. 'Sunder' is an uptempo little cracker too, a driving beat, soft voice and guitars that sound like they've been beamed down from DIY music-making heaven. A few more like this and we're ready to face anything the day throws at us. Food for your indie souls.
